Happy Seasonal Sunday Zesters! Today I was inspired by some farm fresh produce that was “seasonal.” Ever wonder what the heck can be found in the winter season? Here is a list of awesome winter produce, and on this snazzy list I was inspired to make this spicy winter juice! Who knew Meyer lemons are to be at their best in winter & spring? Carrots Oranges and Clementines (sweeter smaller oranges) are also wonderful winter produce! Now I must warn you, if you’re a gringo like me and can’t handle tooooo much spice then be sure to go light on the ginger
Ingredients:
- 1″ of ginger root or 1/2″ for less spicy
- 1 meyer lemon peeled
- 1 orange peeled
- 2 carrots
(this made one serving)
Step one: Peel those citrus!! (we don’t want the rind making our juice bitter)
Voila!! Now it’s time to JUICE.
And now it’s time to sip
Curious on some health benefits of ginger by the way??
Just to name a few…
- Gastrointestinal Relief
- Safe and Effective Relief of Nausea and Vomiting During Pregnancy
- Anti-Inflammatory Effects
- Ginger Induces Cell Death in Ovarian Cancer Cells
- Protection against Colorectal Cancer
- Immune Boosting Action
SO now you can feel good about drinking your tasty drink too! Score!
